Brass Ballpoint Pen CHIBIEN 7 – Black

Japanese artist Yoshikazu Takai began his career creating monumental sculptures installed in public spaces across the country. After years of working on large-scale pieces, he turned his attention to everyday objects and founded the TETZBO brand. Under this name, he crafts finely made writing instruments that still reflect his sculptor’s approach to form. Each piece is the result of meticulous handwork, intentional “imperfections,” and a deep sensitivity to materials. These tools are designed for comfortable writing while carrying the unmistakable imprint of their creator’s style.

The Chibien ballpoint pen was designed to resemble a freshly sharpened pencil – simple, raw, yet refined in every detail. Its name means “mini pencil” in Japanese, and each piece is entirely handmade by Yoshikazu Takai, founder of Tetzbo and master ironsmith. In Takai’s hands, a pen becomes both a tool and a sculpture – functional, minimal, and crafted with soul.

The brass body develops a warm sheen and patina over time, while the hexagonal shape fits perfectly in the hand. The pen has no cap or mechanism – simply pick it up and begin to write. Each piece bears subtle marks of the maker’s hand, making it truly unique.
